Ms. Gurgui holds a master’s in clinical psychology and a master’s in Music. She is pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology.
Oltea has been the recipient of the prestigious Phalin Fellowship for graduate study.
She works with a wide range of pathology, emotional and behavioral issues, interpersonal relationship challenges, and she has experience working with ethnically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse populations.
Oltea is trained in psychodynamic, client centered, cognitive behavioral, and family systems modalities. She appreciates that every client is a unique human being and believes that empathy, trust, hope, and commonality of goals are important predictors of therapeutic success. It is in this safe and empathic place that therapy can take hold and change can happen. Oltea brings to the therapeutic process her education, sensitivity, work ethic, empathy, knowledge of other languages and a life rich with human efforts, influences and experiences. Among her professional influences is Dr. Gary Prouty, for whom she translated a small part of his work, Pre-Therapy, in Romanian.
Oltea will work with some clients/patients for a reduced fee or pro bono.
